About Mine Rescue Center

Our Mission

The Mine Rescue Center's aim is to be a resource for mine rescue professionals across the world. Initially, we're focusing on the U.S. mine rescue scene and MSHA's rules and competitions.

Our goal is to create something that is sustainable, high quality, and useful to mine rescue professionals. If you have ideas on how the website can better perform in meeting this goal, your feedback is welcomed.

History

Mine Rescue Center was started in 2026 by Jacob Olson, a mining engineering student at the Colorado School of Mines and a member of the Colorado School of Mines Mine Rescue Team (CSMMRT).

It grew out of a gap the team kept running into: finding mine rescue competition problems to train on, and getting good training material in general. The Center is an effort to close that gap — for CSMMRT and for every team that needs it.
